Why BJMC?

BJMC enables you to choose a career from various stages of media production. With an emphasis on the social and cultural impact of various media forms, this programme examines the technologies, practices and policies that drive modern media communications. This programme provide an all round growth to its students in the fields like Anchoring , News Reading, Audio-Video Editing , Camera Handling, Reporting, different styles of writing etc. It also strives to give practical knowledge to its students so they can stand in the field on their own.

BJMC@IMS

BJMC at IMS Ghaziabad-University Courses Campus is a 3 year –full time program is affiliated to CCS University Meerut ,having an intake of 60 students is spread over six semesters with a proper balance of theory and practical exposure to our students. It’s not the same course as offered by other institutes. IMS offers world class infrastructure and excellent environment for academic and intellectual growth, practical orientation and encouraging innovative thinking among the students. The institute also facilitates various outdoor activities for its students like channel visit, photography sessions and live reporting sessions.

  • European Pedagogy Adapted Model

    The programme follows European Pedagogy Adapted Model, which is internationally benchmarked teaching system through highly qualified faculty consisting of experiential aspects such as flip classes, ERP driven modules, emphasis on research, case based practical learning and strong corporate interface such as industry visit, guest lectures and live projects. Mandatory internships of 4-6 weeks ( summer & winter), project report evaluation based on internships ,rigorous evaluation & feedback procedure, peer enrichment series and value added courses also form an integral part of the curriculum.

    5. To make major contribution to local, regional, national and international communities through working in media and bringing about change in the society.


Specializations Offered

The students can choose one specialization out of the four options avialable to them.

S-1:News Reading and Anchoring

The course aims to expose its students to the techniques employed in radio jockeying as well as anchoring for live events & television shows with an added advantage of learning news reading complexities. In today’s competitive environment, an individual looking for a break in media industry is required to have an all-round knowledge, though; the students studying this course will also have an option of creating a specialization in any of the mediums, i.e., radio or TV & News Anchoring.

S-2: Web Journalism / New Media

Digital journalism represents a revolution of how news is consumed by society. Online sources are able to provide quick, efficient, and accurate reporting of breaking news in a matter of seconds, providing society with a synopsis of events as they occur. Students wish to become journalists now need to be familiar with digital journalism in order to be able to contribute and develop journalism skills. Not only must a journalist analyze their audience and focus on effective communication with them, they have to be quick; news websites are able to update their stories within minutes of the news event.

S-3:Graphic Designing and Photography

Graphic design training and classroom experience can help the students to begin a highly creative career. Creative departments usually work with other artists, writers and other imaginative minds. Graphic design programs are designed to teach you the foundations of design and help grow your artistic talent to its maximum. Graphic design training will not only help you assimilate to a design job faster, but it can also help you be considered for design positions after graduation.
Photography is a medium of creative art and a photograph is a picture created with mechanical,chemical or electronic want to means. Newspapers and news magazines need news events covered with supporting photos. Stock agencies always want pictures; you may sell your work for calendars or greeting cards. There are many advertising agencies who want photos to create ads for their clients.

S-4: Event Management and Advertising

Event Management is a glamorous and exciting profession which demands a lot of hard work and dynamism. As the name suggests, it means conceptualizing, planning, organizing and finally executing an event. The event could be of any type- musical show, Concert, exhibition, product launching etc.
Advertising is an interesting course with lot of potential for growth and prospectus. It enlightens the person in the areas of copywriting, copyediting, graphic design and production, art direction, television commercials and radio commercials. A career in advertisement is highly challenging requiring a lot of creativity.

Student Driven Clubs

Learning by doing is the philosophy that IMS believes in. There are more than 20 student driven clubs, divided into two categories- Life skill based clubs and Employability skill or Domain Clubs. The clubs are owned and managed by a student council and have monthly agenda, meetimgs and a event calendar that prudently followed for maximum opportunity and skill based learning outside classrooms. Eligibility for Admission:

  • Candidates seeking admission to the BJMC Programme must have passed 10+2 (or its equivalent) examination in any stream with a minimum of 45% marks for General and OBC candidates and pass marks for SC and ST candidates from a recognized Board/ University.
  • Or
  • Candidates appearing for +2 examination or awaiting their results are also eligible to apply. Their candidature, however, shall be considered, subject to their clearing the qualifying examination.

  • Candidate having 1 or 2 Years gap after XII need to submit a Gap Year Certificate.
