The curriculum focuses on the applied nature of finance, which prepares one to meet the needs of the rapidly changing financial environment and to succeed within it. It is further improvised by blending it with management tools to manage risk and solve real-world problems by analyzing the data at hand to make efficient and strategic decisions. The specialization focuses on using a set of metrics to investigate business’ past performance to gain valuable insight and carry out business planning.

The curriculum for this specialization includes all three parts of the analytics viz. Descriptive, Prescriptive and Predictive which have been developed amongst different courses and blended with appropriate tools and data management techniques like optimization computer simulation, decision analysis statistics, predictive modelling, data mining and visualization applied probabilistic modelling, artificial intelligence and applications in finance, marketing, supply chain, information systems and economics using these tools. The specialization aims to identify budding entrepreneurs and great business minds. Its objective is to focus on channelizing the right talent which can contribute to the development of the nation by bringing start-ups, growing existing businesses and generating employment. Students learn various techniques and fundamentals that help them to materialize the innovative business proposition with the help of right mentoring and guidance.
