The Division Managers also adorned the contest by contributing to it. The contest was organized in two phases, Humorous Speech followed by the Evaluation Contest. During the Humorous speech contest the contestants not only tickled everybody?s funny bones but also raised the bar each time for the next contestant. The dramatic speech style mesmerized each soul present in the auditorium and all had real belly laugh. The topics touched upon was Mechanical Toastmasters, Warm Shoulders and Hot Slap, 50 Gigabytes to name a few. In Evaluation Contest, evaluators using the CRC approach-Commendation, Recommendation, Commendation again, evaluated the Test speakers. Despite of the competition all were motivating and cheering each other. It was one of the rare sights where something that usually brings chills down the spine was so much enjoyable. The enlivening humorous and evaluation contest brought a new energy into everybody. The zeal and enthusiasm of the participants and the guests was a sight to behold. The possibility of failure doesn?t prevent contestants from competing because when we are optimistic, we tend to ignore failure. But it is failure that teaches success. Success and failure are not simultaneous; one must take precedence. The idea of such conferences is to provide an opportunity for speakers to improve their speaking abilities and to recognize the best as encouragement to all. Also to provide an opportunity to learn by observing the more proficient speakers who have benefited from their Toastmasters trainings. Today, according to its mission statement, through its member clubs, Toastmasters International helps men and women learn the arts of speaking, listening, and thinking vital skills that promote self-actualization, enhance leadership potential, foster human understanding, and contribute to the betterment of mankind. The efforts of the Convener of the Conference, Ms. Anuradha Bhardwaj along with the student volunteers, Vijay Singh (MIB, year I), Rajat Kumar (BCA, year II), Samarth (BBA, year II) & Pratham Joshi (BBA, year I) made the event a success.
