IMSUC Speaker?s Genesis Toastmasters Club at IMS Ghaziabad, University Courses Campus, organized a ?Leadership Workshop? on 27 February 2020. TM Amiliyaa Syed, Division D Director & TM Pritish Acharya, Area D1 Director were the treasured speakers for the day. TM Pritish Acharya initiated the session by posing a few thought-provoking questions to the audience. He believes that every droplet has the potential to become an ocean. He shared that it is possible only when a person takes initiative. One should always remember that a comfort zone is a beautiful place but nothing ever grows there. If one wants to grow in life, they have to be willing to stretch who they are and experience growing pains. TM Amiliyaa Syed gave insights into the situations where one needs to follow what is being practised in the industry. One should be flexible enough to adapt to the changes to survive and withstand the bullish and bearish trends which are a part and parcel to any industry. She also shared that a leader leads by example. So to be a leader one should master the skills what the others in the team are expected to possess. The session primarily focused on the need of the hour, which is communication, a life skill to learn. To be a good leader one has to be an effective communicator. Having strong communication skills aids in all aspects of life-from professional life to personal life and everything that falls in between. In a survey conducted by LinkedIn in the USA, communication skills topped the chart having the list of most sought-after skills among employees. As the session progressed, the points touched upon were 3 Es of leadership i.e. Educate, Engage and Empower, the importance of being an effective communicator to bag in a good opportunity. The speakers also focused on the dynamic industry where the techniques and innovations become obsolete in the blink of an eye. They also shared the ways to upscale and upgrade selves to withstand the cut-throat competition while meeting the creative demands. The concepts were well explained by providing real-life examples and engaging in fun-filled activities. The untiring efforts of the Executive Committee of IMSUC Speaker?s Genesis Toastmasters Club namely TM Anuvrat Verma (President), TM Samarth Gupta (VP Public Relation), TM Rajat Kumar (VP Membership), TM Anuradha Bhardwaj (Secretary), TM Vijay (Treasurer) & TM Pratham Joshi (Sergeant at Arms) made the event a success.
