IMS UC Campus organized a guest lecture for BJMC Students on November 10th, 2017 by inviting Mr. Priya Ranjan Jha.He told the students about "Current Trends in the newsroom:Changing priorities and their effects on copy" . He told the students about the newsroom which is the central place where journalists?reporters, editors, and producers, along with other staffers work to gather news to be published in a newspaper and an online newspaper or magazine, or broadcast on radio, television, or cable. Some journalism organizations refer to the newsroom as the city room. He also said in the churn of cutbacks and the arrival of new hires, some skills are in decline as veterans depart, while, at the same time, fresh, young blood brings in new skill sets and aptitudes. But with everything changing so rapidly and drastically, newsrooms too must adapt and better reflect new roles, new skills and new workflows, alongside evergreen journalistic values and reporting principles, staffs decline in numbers and the content they produce changes, the skills. He asked the students to observe and to develop reading and writing skills for producing an effective copy. The insightful session provided a great learning experience concluded with question and answer session with vote of thanks to the speaker.
