Annual 8th Subir Raha Memorial Lecture

On the occasion of Annual 8th Subir Raha Memorial Lecture on theme "Assured Inclusive Innovation: Path to CSR 2.0", it was indeed a pleasure to invited by Global Compact Network India (GCNI) along with ONGC group of Companies, at ONGC Limited, Pandit Deendayal Upadhyaya Urja Bhawan, New Delhi on 13th July 2018. Dr. Abha Vashistha & Prof. Neha Anttal along with the students of Biosciences attended the event.
The event started with the welcome address of Dr. Sashi Shanker President, Global Compact Network India (GCNI) & CMD ONGC. He notified that annual lecture series was started by GCNI in 2010, to pay the tribute to the achievements of Late Mr. Subir Raha and these lectures were delivered by experts and luminaries from different walks of life.
This year Padma Vibhushan Dr. R. A. Mashelkar, President, Global Research Alliance, Former Director General of Council of Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR), President, Indian National Science Academy, President, Institution of Chemical Engineers (UK) delivered his lecture on "Assured Inclusive Innovation: Path to CSR 2.0" Dr. Mashelkar is renowned to propagate a culture of innovation and balanced intellectual property rights regime for over two years' decades. It is through his sustained and visionary campaign that growing awareness of Intellectual Property Rights has dawned on Indian academics, researches and cooperates.
In his lecture Dr. R.K. Mashelkar emphasized on high quality innovation in low budget which should be easy approachable to every citizen of India. According to him Talent, Technology and Trust are the three prerequisites to make a nation strong and progressive. In present scenario Corporate Social Responsibility helps to drive the larger firmament and ethos of contributing to the community in the vicinity and also invested in ecosystem. It helps to sustain the spirit and productive efficiencies of the workforce of the organization. Understanding its importance for growth and development of the nation, Government has also been publishing reforms to encourage the corporate world to appreciate the mutual benefits of holistic growth for the society.
Dr. Uddesh Kohli, Senior Advisor, GCNI, New York & Chairman Emeritus, Construction Industry Development Council expressed sincere gratitude to Dr. R.K. Mashelkar to address the gathering and appreciated the professionals representing public and private sector, civil society and UN Organization for attending the annual event.
