The Department of BioSciences, IMS Ghaziabad (University Courses Campus) organized a twin- guest lecture on the 29th of October. The objective of the lectures was to provide the students an exposure to the current research studies in the field of Biology. In a brief welcome ceremony, both the guests were felicitated with plant saplings and IMSUC momentoes, by the Chairperson, Biosciences, Dr. Abha Vashistha.

Dr. Natwar Kalla, President, Society of Andrology, India from the Institute of Reproductive Health and Contraceptive Technology, Jodhpur spoke about his work on the development of a male contraceptive pill Gendausa. He spoke about the importance of his project and outlined the development as well as clinical trial stages of the plant product .

Dr. V.N. Sharma adjunct Prof MIET, Meerut, spoke about Biosafety in the Indian Context. He spoke about the Indian regulatory and law authorities controlling the food products and their inability to maintain food safety regulations. He also spoke about the responsibility of the common citizen to ensure unadulterated and quality products.

The event was presided over by the Chairperson, Biosciences, Dr. Abha Vashistha. All students of M.Sc. Biotechnology and B.Sc. Biotechnology and Microbiology attended the lecture and gained a better understanding of biological product development and Bioethics and Bio-regulation. Dr. Sapna Rakesh (Director, IMS Ghaziabad- University Courses Campus) congratulated and thanked the guest speakers for their time and effort in educating the students with newer developments in the field of BioSciences.
