"Emerging Technological Environment"

Workshop on "Emerging Technological Environment" was organized on February 11, 2019 for MIB 2018-20. In this workshop Dr. Mani Madhukar, Programme Manager at IBM India who is a Tech evangelist of adoption of Cloud, AI/Machine Learning Blockchain IOT, gave insights on Dynamics of technological environment, Challenges of technology upgradation and impact of foreign investments and foreign collaborations.

It was delightment to attend a workshop which helped students to widen outlook about technology and its future on the businesses. The workshop started with the brief introduction of how startups can adopt with technology and technology can help them. After that students came to know about cloud which helped them to gain more knowledge about data management and data analytics. Sir explained different models of cloud which can really help in determining the operations of a business. An activity was done where student get to know about personality traits without typing anything with use of graphics. Students were also briefed about the use of cloud in our daily life through Pizza & Cloud model.

Next session was focused on role of AI as how AI has replaced humans. The role chatbots was explained how with the use of chatbots time can be saved, errors can be reduced and the need of human would only be required for unsolved queries. Here Project Debator was also given as an example of AI which acts as a human being communicator. We came to know how cloud and Internet Of Things can help us businesses to do market research in no time instead of doing researches from google or manually. He told how IOT makes analytical work easy & very confined with applied constraints. Then we were made aware of NODE-RED which is used to develop IOT language, where it uses API to pull information.

Then we came to know the role of Blockchains in businesses such as reducing costs, resisting conflicts, provides consensus, Immutability, no need of creating separate audit or ledger and cryptographic aspect of data. An activity was conducted to explain the role of Blockchain with the example of BMW and Walmart. We also learned how Blockchain is helping in various areas like Government to implement GST through E-Way Bill, same day letter of credit facility, role of CHITPOUGS to reduce CHITFUND scams and role in agriculture sector.

Afterwards we came to know about the approaches of how Infrastructure facilities are developed by- Standalone Data Center Approach and Cloud Oriented Approach which uses Network Cryptographic Accelerator. We learned about day to day technological challenges and a need to cope up with those changes as fast as we can. We were told to read on daily basis to know what is exactly happening in the Industry and at the last we covered the role of technology in modern business.
