Youth leadership campaign - Bright Spark


On 25th February 2019 IMS Ghaziabad University courses campus participated in a youth leadership campaign "Bright Spark" for social change conducted by Sulabh School Sanitation Club (an affiliate of Sulabh International). The event witnessed a participation of more than 200 youths and students involving 12 colleges of Delhi NCR such as JMC, Kamla Nehru, Shyamlal College, Bharati Vidyapeeth College of Engineering, Hindu College to name a few.

An invitation was extended by Sulabh Sanitation Club to Dr Sapna Rakesh to be the Guest of Honour, to grace the occasion and share the Dais with Hon'ble Dr. Bindeshwar Pathak (Founder, Sulabh International), Shri Rajiv Kishore (Executive Director, National Mission for Clean Ganga) and Dr. Pratibha Singh (Team Leader, Wash in Schools, UNICEF). The main goal of this event was to bring together bright minds to give talks that are idea-focused, and on a wide range of subjects, to foster learning, inspiration and wonder - and provoke conversations that matter. Case studies from the field of education, health, sanitation & hygiene were given to the participating teams and each team was invited to make a pitch before a panel of judges. Student team of IMS Ghaziabad University Courses Campus also presented their pitch on the case of waste management.

There was an exhibition-cum-sale where in students of different colleges showcased their product and ideas that contributed to health & hygiene, sanitation, waste management and other developmental issues. The student members of E-CELL, IMS Ghaziabad, University Courses Campus also participated and showcased various decorative items made from plastic waste. Sulabh Sanitation Club also took the visitors for a guided tour to "Museum of Toilets", an initiative by Sulabh Internationl as a contribution towards social upliftment addressing heath, hygiene and sanitation.

A batch of 50 students of BBA and BCA from IMS Ghaziabad, University Courses Campus guided by Dr. Nidhi Srivastava and Dr. Indrani Bhattacharjee attended the program and participated in various events.
