INDUSTRIAL VISIT TO MOTHER DAIRY, PATPARGANJ, DELHI
Beyond the academics industrial visits provide a practical perspective to the students; it helps to
combine the theoretical knowledge with the industrial exposure. In this aspect Industrial Visit to
Mother Dairy, Patparganj, Delhi was organized by the School of Biosciences, IMS University
Courses Campus on 23rd September, 2017 for the graduate and post graduate students of
Microbiology & Biotechnology.
The session started with the brief presentation on history of Mother Dairy. Patparganj plant is
one of the largest plants for milk in Asia. Students learned various steps involved in the milk
collection, pasteurization and flavoring of milk. There were about twenty five tests which have
been performed by quality control team to check the quality of milk. Urea and soda test was
demonstrated for students by Mother Dairy executive. Students also visited homogenizer and
pasteurization unit.
This visit provided the students an insight into the real working environment of the Industry and
the opportunity to plan, organize and engage themselves in active learning experiences.
