A special session on News Analysis was conducted on August 13th, 2019 at 9:30 am for the MIB 2019-21 students. The session was conducted by Prof. Ashish Srivastava, Faculty in the Management department. The purpose of the session was to acquaint the students with a regular activity in classes which is News Analysis Discussion where they give presentations also. The students were provided hands-on experience and learning about how news and information in the domestic and global markets is critical in developing their analytical skills. As a student of MIB, understanding and ability to analyse world news is a mandatory requirement for developing them into holistic individuals and also make them more placement ready.

The session began with the discussion on the current affairs in political, economic, technological, legal and environmental scenario. Prof. Ashish emphasized on the importance of each news from the perspective of developing the information gathering and processing ability of the students. The students were also provided with the main sources of information both offline and online so as to develop a comprehensive understanding of the world around them. Many news was discussed for the students to understand how they have to present the same in the classes. Along with this certain rules and pre-requisites for giving a good presentation were told to them.

The students were able to gain new knowledge from the session that would help them to develop an ability to study and develop good reports. Students are looking forward to implementing the learning gained in the coming classes.
