IMSUC Speaker?s Genesis Toastmasters Club at IMS Ghaziabad, University Courses Campus organized ?Semi-Annual Conference-Discoveration? on 14 December 2019. Winners from ?D Division? Area Contest participated in the conference. DTM Sandeep Raturi-Veteran Toastmaster, Program Quality Director-TM Nimish Joseph, TM Amiliyaa Syed, Division D Director ennobled the occasion by their gracious presence. Besides, the Area Directors viz-a-viz TM Pritish Acharya (Area D1 Director), TM Dr. Deepa Goel (Area D2 Director), TM Smita Sengupta (Area D3 Director), TM Abhinav Bhardwaj (Area D4 Director) & TM Divjot Kaur (Area D5 Director) graced the event. Everybody at one or the other point in life have their ?Discoveration? moment when they discover something about their abilities and their own selves. That becomes the trigger moment in life to chase the dreams after which there is no looking back. Like every other person Toastmasters also had their ?Discoveration? moment and the conference somewhere gave a glimpse into the lives of the participants and the keynote speakers. The event was inaugurated with invoking the blessings of Goddess Saraswati by offering flower petals. The conference had the Evaluation Speech Contest and Humorous Speech Contest. The Evaluation Speech Contest kick-started with a ?Test Speech?. The speech was evaluated by the Participant Evaluators. The Participant Evaluators helped to gain insights into the trade secrets of a great speech. The Humorous Speech Contest at ?Discoveration? was a one stop shop for everybody?s laughter with 5 amazingly funny speeches. The dramatic speech style mesmerized each soul present in the auditorium and all had real belly laugh. The topics touched upon were-The 360 Degree Turn, Octogenarian Friend, Mechanical Toastmasters, The Big Agenda and Warm Shoulders & Hot Slaps. The audience witnessing the rhetoric performances guffawed as they got a peek into the hilarious sides of the participants. This was not all; the event unfurled the surprises with the passage of time. The extremely successful veteran toastmasters were the keynote speakers of the day who shared their mantras with the audience and everyone was in awe of them. The event had many takeaways and these mantras were one among many. The Emcees, TM Shiva & TM Kashish created a lively environment with their rib-tickling jokes and fillers. TMs also showcased their versatility through dancing, singing, fluting, standup comedy and poem. TM Ajay Philip and TM Akul Raina emerged as the winner for Humorous Speech Contest and Evaluation Speech Contest respectively. They will represent Division D at the District Level. The untiring efforts of the Convener of the Conference, Ms. Anuradha Bhardwaj along with the student volunteers, Vijay Singh (MIB, year I), Rajat Kumar (BCA, year II) & Pratham Joshi (BBA, year I) made the event a huge success. The entire Toastmasters fraternity thanked CA (Dr.) Rakesh Chharia (Treasurer-IMS Group of Institutions) & Dr. Sapna Rakesh (Director-IMS Ghaziabad, University Courses Campus) with a memento for their constant support.
