Summary of the event-
On the occasion of Swami Vivekananda Jayanti, celebrated as National Youth Day, the HR Club of IMS, in collaboration with the CDC, organized a transformative workshop on Meditation and Breathwork titled ‘DHYAN’ - The Journey Within'. The workshop was for faculty and staff. This workshop aimed to nurture a healthy mind, body, and soul. The session was led by Dr. Deepali Monga, a seasoned Mindfulness Meditation Coach and Trainer.
Swami Vivekananda, known for his expertise in meditation and breathwork, believed in their profound impact on life. He emphasized the purification of body and mind through systematic breathing and considered meditation as a bridge connecting the human soul to the divine. Recognized as the introducer of meditation to the Western world, Vivekananda described it as a state where the mind remains fixed on a specific internal or external location, granting the power to flow unbroken towards that point.
During the workshop, Dr. Deepali shared insights into mindfulness, illustrating how meditation is crucial in navigating the challenges of daily life. She delved into the science behind meditation through a presentation, highlighting the regular practice of this technique by celebrities and successful personalities as an integral part of their lives.
The workshop focused on a simple yet powerful technique: observing the natural breath, followed by relaxation and various rhythmic breathing exercises. Participants were guided on incorporating these practices into their daily routines to manage worry, stress, and challenges effectively.
The session received high praise, with participants sharing remarkable experiences and positive feedback. The attendees expressed feelings of relaxation, calmness, and inner peace. The Club members and Dr. Deepali extended their gratitude to the college Director and Management for such sessions. The event served as a reminder of the timeless wisdom imparted by Swami Vivekananda and the continued relevance of meditation in fostering well-being.
