4 Days Workshop on FINTECH

Department of Management Studies at IMS Ghaziabad University Courses Campus organized 4-Days online workshop on "FINTECH" for its BBA final year students (Batch 2018-21) on 09th,10th, 16th and 17th October 2020. The Resource person of the workshop was Prof.Abhinav Kataria (CFA, M.com, MA (Economics) and UGC NET (Commerce and Management), NCCMP qualified) . The main objective of this workshop was to make students aware of the technological revolution that came a few years back in finance and financial services. How Banking & Finance companies has been continuously interlinking itself with the technology. Next day,The session geared up with the same topic- Technology and its impact on Banking application and its services. Furthermore, the session took a turn towards the soft loans, and simultaneously credit crads, gift cards, BITCOIN were covered by the speaker. Real estates, Vocal for Local, cash going Indians were also touched by the speaker. Then, the speaker also mentioned role of technology in the area of life and genral insurance. The session was wrapped up by explaining all formalities that one has to go through before applying for a loan or buying any investment product from a banks or any other financial institutions.

Again the session was kick-started with some digital talks. How the digital information mentioned on the individual's social media handles work for big companies and their delaing with financial technology was explained by the speaker.

Then, the session proceeded towards the banking sector and its fundamentals. Organized and Unorganized sectors were elucidated by the speaker. Bank Ombudsman Scheme by RBI was clarified by the speaker. The benefits for retail category of this scheme were pinpointed. Some tools for fund transferring like NEFT, RTGS, PAYTM and other payment aggregators were also put in the place.

The last day of the workshop commenced with discussing P2P lending. All the elements of P2P in India were explained in detail.
The US-based brokerage sector ans its usefulness in the recent scenario was also discussed. Some Fintech based companies like Zerodha, Marketmojo, SEBI Investor, Policytray, Bond papers all this were discussed.
At the end of the session, an evaluation test was conducted by Professor Ashish Srivastava and students appreciated and encouraged the efforts and the learnings from the workshop.

Then, the session was wrapped up with a vote of thanks by HOD Dr.Geeti Sharma and by Professor Ashish Srivastava expressing their gratitude to the resource person and all the attendees , who were actively involved throughout the session.
