Summary of the Event-

 

''Dance is the Hidden language of the Soul'' 

International Dance Day is a global celebration of dance, created by the Dance Committee of the International Theatre Institute (ITI), the main partner for the performing arts of UNESCO. The day strives to encourage participation and education in dance through events and festivals held on the date all over the world.

The Department of Journalism and Mass Communication organized an event 'Aja Nachle' and gave a tribute to the legendary chorographer of India, Late Ms. Saroj Khan on the occasion of World Dance Day. 

The day is a celebration day for those who can see the value and importance of the art form dance, and acts as a wake-up-call for governments, politicians and institutions which have not yet recognised its value to the people. That’s why we decided to give a tribute to her on this occasion. Saroj ji was innately talented and so gifted as an artiste.She never learned dancing and yet she was flawless.Only a blessed soul can have a talent to ingrained her. Saroj Khan, who has over 2000 songs to her credit.

 

Students from different departments performed amazingly on the songs that were choreographed by the legendary Choreographer Saroj Khan. The event took place on zoom platform on 29th April 2021. 

 

 

Learning Outcome:

 It was a great learning experience for the students as they got to know more about the legendary cinematographer of India also gave the tribute to her.
