Summary of the Event:BCA Department organized a Buddy mentoring session on topic ?Basics of statistics? on 13th Oct 2021. The trainer of the mentorship was LakshayaTeotiaBCA 2nd year (Batch 2020-23) student. The session started with a brief introduction about the applications of statistics and its need in the real world. Mr. Lakshaya started the program with a real life example indicating the need of Statistics by taking the concept of data collection and organization and then proceed towards basic concepts. He also discussed the role of statistics in predicting things and also made students to learn various tricks for solving complicated problems of statistics. Later he discussed various numerical methods to interpret the information from statistical data. It was an interactive session where students raised many queries that were very well answered by him. The session ended with a vote of thanks by Prof. RashmiVaishnav.
Learning Outcome:1.Students learn about the implementation of Statistics in real life.
2. They learned about the concepts of organization of data.
3. Students learnt about Averages and Measures of central tendency.
4. Relation between mean, median and mode was also taught.
