Summary of the Event:
The Literary Club of IMS Ghaziabad University Courses Campus organized “Speak Up” – A poetry competition on April 13, 2022. The students from all the programs participated enthusiastically in the competition. In the competition, the young writers came forward and presented poetry on various social, and economic issues. In the opening Prof. (Dr.) Ajay Kumar, Director, IMS Ghaziabad (University Courses Campus ) highlighted the importance of the Literary Club in the Institution and he also mentioned how Literature can act as a foundation on any subject and shared the nuances of poetry writing and reciting its history and essence.
After that Dr. Geeti Sharma, Chairperson, School of Management Studies addressed the students about the importance of such competition in confidence-building.
In the competition, students were judged on the parameters of confidence, voice modulation, intonation, and overall presentation. The winners of the event were Mr. Aayush Shukla from BBA 1st Year who was awarded the first prize, Saurabh Gupta from BCA 1st Year, and Deepanshu BCA 2nd Year who was awarded the second and third prize respectively. In the end, the event was concluded by a vote of thanks by Ms. Akansha Tyagi, Head Literary Club.
Learning Outcome
The students learned the skills of performing on stage.
The event served its purpose of bringing out the poets and performers among the students.
