REPORT OF INDUSTRIAL VISIT

Summary of the Visit:
An industrial visit to “Yakult Danone India Pvt. Ltd.” Food Park, Rai Industrial Area, HSIIDC, Sonipat, Haryana 131029 was organized by the School of Biosciences of IMS, Ghaziabad University Courses Campus for the B.Sc.(H) Microbiology and BiotechnologyIIIrdyear students on Wednesday, 28thSeptember,2022. A group of 64 students got an opportunity to learn the insight of the industry machinery, latest demanding technologies. In this visit students were highly enthusiastic for listening the industrial higher authorities.
In the morning at 11:30 a.m. we visited the Yakult Danone. We were all warmly welcomed by the Executive Ms. Devanshi and she gave a brief introduction about the Yakult and conducted a tour of the YAKULT DANONE plant. She explained about the biological processes encompassing the production of the YAKULT, a probiotic drink for a healthy lifestyle. She also guided the students regarding the machinery and operation involving the packaging of the Yakult. After that, we all were headed towards a small presentation on the history of Yakult and the health benefits being served by the consumption of Yakult. Yakult have a very fascinating tag line which says “LOVE YOUR INTESTINE” and it contain 6.5billions Bacteria strainLactobacillus caseiShirota (LcS).
The session was concluded with some question and answers. Many of the students asked different questions to the Quality Analyst regarding the production and biological entities involved. Yakult motivated the students by giving token of affection in the form of a pack of biscuits and a Yakult. The visit came to an end with a group photograph.

Finally, we left the premises at 3:00p.m. It was an interesting, highly informative and a successful visit.The faculty coordinators were Prof. Neha Anttal and Dr. Swati Tyagi from Biosciences department.School of Biosciences express our gratitude to the Head Department and all the team members of Yakult Danone for their valuable time with us. Students, got the insight of probiotic product development and future scope associated with the emerging trend in the microbiology field.
