Report on Workshop on Writing Quality Proposal for Successful Research Grant

Summary of the Event:
Research Cell at IMS Ghaziabad University Courses Campus organized a Workshop on “Writing Quality Proposal for successful Research Grant” on 15th October, 2022 from 11:00 am to 1:30 pm in IQAC Room. Dr. Richa Sharma, Deputy Director (Research), ICSSR, Ministry of Education was the resource person for the session and handles various research projects from the government body. The session was highly fruitful and was attended by all the faculty members across departments like management, computer sciences, journalism and biosciences. Dr. Richa helped the participants to understand the entire process of applying for the grants and what factors to be kept in mind. She also encouraged the faculty members to apply under various schemes and how the entire research project should be undertaken.
Dr. Richa Sharma is a seasoned researcher with over 16 years of active research experience at both national and international level. With her many projects in Japan, she is currently working with ICSSR on deputation from GNLU, Gujarat. She is also the nodal officer for all the research projects in social sciences. Dr. Richa also helped in identifying the right topic and how to relate to policy review to make the research project effective. She also discussed some cardinal issues like developing the budget, budget constraints, pilot study, visualising the research outcomes that the researcher needs to calculate.
The event started with welcoming of the guest by Prof. Komal Kapoor. Dr. Umesh Kumar, Head of Research Cell felicitated the resource person with sapling and memento as a token of gratitude from the institute’s side. The entire session was highly interactive with faculty members clarifying their doubts and taking guidance for research writing. It was a great session and would help the faculty member to develop their research profile that will also add value to the institutional profile.
