Summary of the Event: School of Biosciences, IMS Ghaziabad University Courses organized a “Third Journal Club (JC_03)” meeting based on Research Paper Presentation by the IMS students. The theme of the JC-03 meeting was “Mosquito Borne Diseases” has organized on 6th December 2021, Monday. The primary goal of this club activity was to motivate the college students in the direction of research and development. In this respect, it is an endeavour to enhance the understanding and presentation of scientific literature and research papers through this club activity which is a major part of academics. The session started with a welcome note by the Faculty Coordinator, Dr. Hemlata Srivastava. Furthermore, the session executed by Dr. Surabhi Johari, the Program Chairperson, School of Biosciences by her motivational speech to the students and participants. She highlighted the importance of research and development in the field of biosciences and promoted this club activity for understanding, reading and extracting information from scientific literature. She encouraged the students to inculcate the habit of critically analysing the scientific information. In supervision of Dr. Hemlata Srivastava students of B. Sc. (3rd year) Microbiology, Anjali Godiyal, Vishakha Manral and B. Sc.(2nd year)Kanishka Jasaul have presented their research paper related to “Mosquito Borne Diseases” and discussed the updated scenario of various mosquito causing diseases such as Dengue, Chickungunya, Malaria and Zika virus diseases. These diseases are highly epidemic and spreading through mosquitoes as a vector at national and at international level. Apart from this, two posters have also been presented by Kamakshi and Ishita from B. Sc. (1st year). They have elucidated the present scenario and future effect of these diseases. These students have also discussed the ongoing research work on the vaccine against these diseases and provided significant information in this context. This activity nurtures the students scientifically. The session ended with a formal vote of thanks by Dr. Surabhi Johari who appreciated the efforts of the students and motivated them to explore and take initiative. The session was informative and knowledgeable that represents the inclination of the students in the way of scientific research and inspires the scientific interactions among them.
