With an aim to go beyond academics, School of Biosciences, provided a golden opportunity to its students of B.Sc. Biotechnology & B.Sc. Microbiology, final year to visit Indian Pharmacopoeia Commission on 3rd June 2022.

Indian Pharmacopoeia Commission (IPC) is an autonomous institution of the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Govt. of India. IPC was created to set standards of drugs in the country. Its basic function is to update regularly the standards of drugs commonly required for treatment of diseases prevailing in this region. It publishes official documents for improving Quality of Medicines by way of adding new and updating existing monographs in the form of Indian Pharmacopoeia (IP).

The students explored different sections of Analytical laboratories, where they were explained routine lab experiments and research work on HPLC, UHPLC, Mass Spectroscopy, IR Spectroscopy and Gas chromatography. They were also introduced to principles of various methods of Microbiological Analysis of Drugs and Pharmaceuticals.
