Summary:

IMS Ghaziabad University Courses Campus' E-Cell hosted a Turncoat Debate Competition on the occasion of National Youth Day with the theme of “Problems faced by Young Entrepreneurs”, dated 12th January 2023. National Youth Day 2023 is observed on 12th January every year to commemorate the birth anniversary of Swami Vivekananda. The day is celebrated to recognize and pay homage to the teaching and preaching of Swami Vivekananda. He has been one of the most profound spiritual leaders in India. To encourage them to embrace the teachings of Swami ji in their life to find the path to enlightenment. Organizing a debate competition was aimed at improving students' public speaking skills and teaching them how to express their thoughts and opinions articulately. In the session, students' opinions, thoughts, and perspectives enriched their knowledge and understanding.

"Problems faced by Young Entrepreneurs" aimed to raise awareness of the challenges faced by young entrepreneurs, such as lack of business skills and experience, age stereotypes, societal expectations, self-doubt, and many more.In the business world, entrepreneurs can encounter hurdles from many different angles, but when you're young and new, there always seem to be extra hurdles. Some of the points even made us think about the facts. There was so much talent in the room. Arguments were made and proved.

The event was accomplished with successful participation from prestigious institutes throughout the country namely IIM Bodhgaya, Symbiosis, Army Institute of Management (AIM), Kolkata, Birla Institute of Management Technology (BIMTECH), Daulat Ram College (DRC), Delhi University (DU), Delhi, Jamia Millia Islamia (JMI), New Delhi, Narsee Monjee Institute of Management Studies (NMIMS), Mumbai, St. Stephen's College (SSC), Delhi University (DU), Delhi. Participants came from all over India and put their best efforts into the competition.  It was an insightful session that brought forth fresher outlooks based on the given theme. The event was well-received by the participants and the in-house team received the heartiest compliments for their positively contributed efforts. It highlighted the futuristic and developed thinking that today's youth carry forward. It was overall a great experience and a successful event.    

Conclusion:

The debate competition assessed problem-solving skills as well as the assessment of narrative skills.
