“IIT KANPUR – E-SUMMIT”

Summary:

 As part of the field and exposure visit to a Design Centre and Incubator, students of E cell visited IIT Kanpur during the three day visit from 13^th-15^th January, 2023. The students visited and learnt from the Incubator at IIT Kanpur and understood the various operations and businesses set there.  

E-cell at IMS Ghaziabad University Courses Campus' went to IIT Kanpur to attend their 11th edition of its annual entrepreneurial festival ‘E-summit 23’  from 13th January to 15th January 2023. On day 2 i.e., 14^th January 2023 there were several events for students where they participated and nurtured their entrepreneurship skills. There were cash prizes too worth 1.2 lakhs and goodies worth 6 lakhs. The list of events included in the E-submit was:

1) Sell your Sole

Where participants had to put themself in the shoes of a Chief Marketing Officer (CMO) and present a marketing campaign strategy.

Cash Prize worth 30K INR and Goodies worth 1 lakh

2) Be An Angel:

Be an Angel yourself. Participants played the role of Angel Investors, who had $5Mn to invest in the startups presented.

Cash Prize worth 25K INR and Goodies worth 1 lakh

3) Decrypt:

The study competition, Decrypt, was all about reading the situation, solving problems, and taking decisions.

4) Crypto Craze:

 A virtual crypto trading competition where participants bid for stocks with the virtual money provided to them.

Cash Prize worth 15K INR and Goodies worth 1 lakh

5) 3! 2! 1! Pitch:

A quick pitch competition where participants had 3 Minutes to pitch 1 innovative idea.

Cash Prize worth 10K INR and Goodies worth 1 lakh

6) Upstart Campus:

This competition was a fantastic opportunity to develop your ideas, make new business connections, understand how both sides of a pitch work, and learn while having fun.

Participants got funding opportunities worth 10 lakhs INR and much more!

Several talk shows and seminars of successful entrepreneurs namely BVR Mohan Reddy, Sanjiv Rangrass, Saurav Chandra, Dhruvam Thaker, Sudeep Chaudhari, Satanik Roy, Ashish Sinha was there along with some top managers of companies like Yes Bank, SBI, Smart Taxi and many more. Talk sessions were quite interactive and students clearly understood the concepts of entrepreneurship.

Objectives:

The startup-Expo exhibition was organized for top-notch start-ups, investors, speakers, and organizations from all over the world to provide an amazing platform for start-ups to showcase their innovative products and services to everyone. Students of IMS Ghaziabad explored and interacted with their founders and gained insights from it. Several small fun games and trivia were arranged for students to win exciting goodies.

Learning Outcomes:

E - Cell representatives of IMS Ghaziabad participated enthusiastically in these listed events and seminars which helped them gain valuable knowledge along with entrepreneurship skills.
