Every formal education is completed when the scholar is conferred with the degree that he has earned with his diligence and sincerity. IMS Ghaziabad (University Courses Campus) organized CONVOCATION 2017 on Sunday, 26th March. The guests gracing the dias were eminent in the knowledge, wisdom and humility they carried. Chief Guest for the day was Mr. Suman Bose (Managing Director and CEO- SIEMENS Industry Software India), Chief Guest of Honor- Mr. Dinesh Jain (Joint President HR, UFLEX), Keynote Speaker Dr. Manpreet Singh Manna (Director, AICTE, Government of India). Chairman-IMS Group of Institutions, Shri Sanjay Agarwal, General Secretary- IMS Group of Institutions, Shri Rakesh Chharia, Treasurer- IMS Group of Institutions Shri Ramesh Chaudhary along with other members of the Executive Council and guests- Ms. Deepa Chharia, Shri Rajeev Chaudhary, Mr. Vidur Chharia and Dr. Goswami were present. The students were lucky to be blessed with their presence of the Academic Advisory board members - Mr. Wishwas Julka (Vice President, Global Tata Group Sales Tata Technologies), Puneet Gupt (COO, The Times of India Digital), Mr. Parag Rastogi (Director, Bennet & Coleman), Mr. Apurva Chamaria (Vice President & Head Corporate Marketing Digital at HCL Technologies), Mr. Shubhankar Ghose (CPO, Zoom Insurance Pvt. Ltd.), Dr. Deepak Singh (Director HR, KPMG India) and Mr. Neeraj Malik (Executive Vice President, Aptech Inc. Ltd.).
The Convocation started with the auspicious lamp lighting and taking the blessings of goddess saraswati. Dr. Sapna Rakesh, Director- IMS Ghaziabad (University Courses Campus) delivered the Directors report and highlighting the plethora of new initiatives taken by the institute, like- Constituting the Academic Advisory Board, Global Immersion Program, Specializations added on Family Owned Business and Entrepreneurship, re-launch of MIB program, Skill based education, Flip teaching, case based teaching and many more. More than 500 students were conferred the degree most of them present and some in absentia. The students took an oath of being better humans rather than only graduates. The oath undertaking was done by Dr. Pooja Rastogi (Dean IMS Ghaziabad, University Courses Campus).
The meritorious students were conferred with Gold, Silver and Bronze medal, eleven merit holders were girls. The institute believes in acknowledging and motivating students to go outside the boundaries to learn and add value. Five students- Mahima Rastogi (B.Sc. H, BT), Richa Tomar, Shivangi Pundhir, Shivangi Yadav (BBA-III Year) and Urvashi Mittal (BBA II year) were given Academic Pride Awards 2017 for their research and writing papers at National and international level. Faculties Dr. Namita Ashish Singh, Dr. Gagan Varshney, Mr. Girish Kumar Singh, Mr. Gaurav Kaushik and Dr. Pooja Rastogi were also awarded for their academic and innovative teaching and research capabilities.
The guests inspired the graduating students with their real life experiences and the best ways to lead a happy contended life. With the help of a dedicated team of faculty, staff and students the event was executed with precision bringing a glory to each one associated with the program.
