IMS University Course campus organized a Seminar on Sustainability and Growth of Business in Digital Era on November 25, 2017at IMS GHAZIABAD, University Courses Campus, NH-24, AdhyatmikNagar,Ghaziabad, India. The objective of the Seminar was to bring Student, Faculty and Eminent personalities from the Corporate to share a common platform to discuss the issues of relevance to the present Business World. Creating a long term value with scarce resources is a huge challenge for entrepreneurs, but it?s hardly a novel one. More than 250 People registered for the seminar and many Professional colleges like IMS Ghaziabad LQ, IMS Ghaziabad EC ABES EC, RBMI Gr. Noida, DIET Hapur, ITS Mohan Nagar,IPEM Ghaziabad, CHRIST Institute participated in the seminar. Prof. (Dr.) Rakesh Kumar Khandal was the Chief Guest for the day. He is the President R&D and Business Development India Glycols Ltd. He was a former Vice-Chancellor at Dr. A.P.J Abdul Kalam Technical University, Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh. Guest of Honour for the day was Mr. Navin Raina, who is a Business Strategist and Technology Advisor at Gartner Inc. Prof. Priyanka Sadhna, Chairperson Career Development Centre was the Master of Ceremony for the Inaugural Session. The Seminar was started with National Anthem and thereafter flower petals were offered to MaaSaraswati the Goddess of Knowledge. After that Ms. Priyanka Sadhna called Dr. Sapna Rakesh, Director IMS UC Campus, Ghaziabad for welcome address. Dr. Sapna Rakesh emphasized the importance of Seminar by calling it as Student?s seminar. She has also emphasized the need of right attitude for the holistic development of the Student. After her address Dr. Sapna Rakesh?s welcome Prof. Kapil Mohan, Convener, to deliberate the overview of the Seminar. After that, Prof. Priyanka Sadhna invited Mr. Navin Raina (Guest of Honour) to address the audience. Mr. Raina focused on the fact that how Artificial Intelligence and Digitalization has changed whole process of doing a business. He had also emphasized need for development of skills. He also quoted that 25 Million new job profiles would be created by 2030 due to digitization. He further added that today Corporate are also open to talk young minds for their development. He has also said that "Sustenance would be people thinking differently, if you want to do things digitally it would not work if you don't disrupt, people need to think differently on lines on which current businesses are running?. DrKhandal talked about 4S which are very essential for Human existence that is Satvik; Sanskar; Spirituality and Sustainability. He also emphasized that Sustainability is to do with Humanity and anything which is against humanity will not be sustainable. With this we came to an end to the Inaugural session. The inaugural programme was an eye opener for all the Students in the context of the importance of Digital Transformation, Artificial Intelligence for Sustainability and Growth of Business. The first Technical session was based on the theme of ?VUCA?. VUCA is an acronym used to describe or reflect on Volatility, Uncertainty, Complexity and ambiguity of general condition and situations. The session was initiated by Dr. Pooja Rastogi,Dean IMS Ghaziabad, University Courses Campus. She addressed the gathering by describing about ?VUCA?. Mr. MandeepRawat,Dean CRC and Prof. Priyanka Sadhna from IMS Ghaziabad presented the eco-friendly sapling to eminent speakers. The first speakers MsAlpna K. Khera, currently working with Keolis-India as an advisor for growth markets, emphasized and discussed various aspects of VUCA. She said VUCA as the magnitude of the change and pace of change.She further discussed that in the world where change is significantly speeding up where business leaders could not predict the future with a certain degree of accountancy,and the strategy can do longer stay tactic, the business goals can no longer be framed in adverse.She suggested that Business leaders shall realize the breakthrough success in digital business requires not only forward- thinking sets of Business capabilities to adopt to ?VUCA? digital era. The Second Speaker, Mr.VinodK.Pandita, CEO Perception Management, also discussed about VUCA. During his deliberations, he mentioned that VUCA is a partly precise description or reflection now individuals and Organizations feel in a heavily digital World. MrPandita emphasized on Achieving Competitive edge by building Corporate Culture and Transforming lives through innovation. He also suggests that every individual should have core -purpose statement of his life and build their own personal Brand. Finally, the session ended with John D. Rockfeller?sfamous quote ?If you want to succeed you should strike out on new paths, rather than travel the world path of accepted success? ?IMS Ghaziabad, University Courses Campus always comes up with a neoteric strategy for the students?. With this note, Second Technical Session of seminar commenced at 3:00pm. This session was based on SMAC (Social Media Analytics and Cloud Computing) and speakers for the session were Mr Dinesh Bhasin (Founder of Bread n Butter), MrDarpanMajumdar (Independent Consultant of India) and MrPuneetGupt (Chief Operating Officer, Times Internet) Mr Dinesh Bhasin?s session was very informative. He told about how to find the solution to a problem in this social networking environment. During the session, he reevaluates facebook strategy and new marketing strategies, discuss 1-2-1 communication and suggested to invest on creativity instead of social sites. MrDarpanMajumdar, whose motive was to reach the audience with the minimum resources, and the way in which one can accomplish his task by using social networking platforms, as all are living in this online world and this is the best way to target audience. The last speaker for the session was MrPunitGupt. He described the meaning of SMAC and explained about the new and emerging terms in IT world as Big Data and Business Analytics, predictive analysis and Cloud Computing etc. Further, He deliberate on these terms and usage in modern digital era. He focusses on how business can be benefitted by modern technologies.The speeches of all the speakers were very essential for the career growth of student in this IT world. The last Technical session of the seminar was Panel Discussion on the Theme ?Assessment of Indian Corporate Landscape?. This panel discussion organized by the department of management of IMS Ghaziabad, discussed the current scenario of the corporate scene in our country, the opportunities it presents in the ever fast world, the challenges it faces today. The Indian corporate landscape only corresponds to India or to Bharat as well and even if it has been developing steadily what does it mean for the youth, what can the audience (comprising of students from various institutes learn from it), so argued Dr. V.P Singh. He emphasized that the goal of a nation is to help its citizens lead happy, satisfied lives but it?s up to us to reach a state of contentment. The points were reiterated by all other panelists, adding something from their perspective, attributing clarity to the subjects. The Moderator for the panel discussion was Dr. V.P. Singh, PatanjaliAyurved Ltd. Other panelists were Mr. G.P. Rao CEO, GPR HR Consulting LLP, Dr. Amit Pareenja, Principal Consultant, Tata Communications Ltd., Mr. Neeraj Malik, Executive Vice President, APTECH and Mr. DarpanMajumdar, Digital Media Strategist and Marketing Consultant, Dentsu Media for Carat. In his opening remarks, Dr. V.P. Singh talked about the development of the corporate landscape, mentioned news facts, correlation of growth of stock market with corporate world and an excerpt of Urdu Poetry (Naza) from the works of Javed Akhtar. The topic received renewed importance in context of sustainability, factors determining the opportunistic scene and challenges. Initiating the discussion Dr. V.P Singh asked Mr. Neeraj Malik ?How do you view India in corporate landscape context??. Malik talked about the ever increasing need of dynamism in the area and counter questioned, ?Are we really becoming dynamic?? Dr. Amit Pareenja in continuation afterwards stressed that corporates need to understand the relevance of consumerim, a great example as where is the handle of a cup attached? The handle is attached outside the cup, he answered, following he said that if you find the handle outside, means your corporate won?t work. Further he talked about how potentially strong market, rural India is, developing at a faster rate than urbanized sectors and how every corporate want to capitalize on rural India. Mr. DarpanMajumdar, discussed his personal experiences from his soul searching trips. He highlighted that the world is much more abstract then what it might seem to be, his commentary and awareness giving example of the life cycle of a phone highlighted the theme of sustainability. V.P. Singh suggested some topics to the audience that they should definitely go through which they are not covering in the session, that being the Stakeholder Theory, Conscious Capitalism, a book by a French Author Reinventing Organization, and holacracy. Afterwards Mr. GP Rao with the assistance of a presentation shared the bullet points in regards to the corporate landscape, political stability, banking, corporate laws, FDI, Mergers & Acquisition, the opportunities enlaid by demographics, skilling, reverse brain drain, and entrepreneurship. The challenges that the corporate scenery faces being of Skill mismatch, the gigantic population of our country, the cultural sensitivity, exodus from core to new sector, work-ethics obsolescence, and de-humanization. He also mentioned how we can work with such challenges ? by accepting diversity and inclusion is a beneficial point, design thinking, demographic levers, dialogue format of communication, development focused review, and digitization. Mr V.P Singh expatiated that every has a goal, a vision ? the objectives to bring happiness to its people. He asked what opportunities the corporate landscape has, to pursue the nation?s goals and visions? MrNeeraj Malik picked up on one of the points GP Rao talked about ? Skill Mismatch and that corporates are sitting idle regarding this, they can?t do anything, VP Singh interrupted him to ask what window does this dialogue open for me if were sitting in the audience. He further focused by referring audience on the need to understand which skill they want to apply and where. The panel conclude withconsciousness of the fact that they transitioned from talking about corporate optics to how it can be talked about in a compatible fashion with the audience that is listening.MrMajumdar concluded that people spend time understanding when and what will make them happy, MrRao added that doing so leads to what is termed as employability. Other panelists echoed the same sentiment. Concluding the discussion with a Q/A with the audience, Dr. VP Singh thanked the panelists for their valuable input.
