MIB ORIENTATION DAY- 3

Session -1
"Fulfilment is reaching your own expectations; not the expectations of others".

With this note the CDC Department conducted a very conducive and enlightening session aiming in introspecting& setting of individual & professional goals / targets for the new MIB aspirants at IMS, Ghaziabad University Courses Campus. Students were asked to fill - up a "Course Expectation Sheet" where they need to answer a set of six questions, entailing the following:

What are the 3 objectives you wish to accomplish in MIB program?
What skills do you need to learn and improve?
What according to you are top five employable attributes?
What do you see as the top three benefits of taking MIB?
What do you think recruiters look for, in MIB graduates?
What are the three initiatives that you would like to take each day for personal & professional development?

Addressing the above set of question, few concepts about personality& different sets of traits, personal development, Personal SWOT Analysis, present corporate scenario, various terms used in the corporate environment& so on were discussed in depth with the students. Latter, two short-assignments were given to the students for the next session to be held on 19th July 2018, Thursday.
The first assignment was based on formulating individual presentations based on Harvard Business Review Articles. After which video graphic profiling and psychometric testing will be done for each of the individual student. Secondly, the new MIB aspirants were asked to do a Personal SWOT Analysis and submit a detailed report of the same.
Indeed, it was a very informative session which allowed students to set focus and responsibility for their own learning and appropriately evaluate their goals / targets against shared expectations and make any necessary adjustments to grow and captivate the dynamic learning environment.

Session - 2
Opportunities, Employability & Placement

CRC department had organized an interactive session with newly inducted MIB Students to guide them towards "Opportunities, Employability & Placement". Mr. Mandeep Singh Rawat, Dean - CRC, had initiated the session with his brief introduction and followed by Mr. Vijay Shukla, Manager-CRC. The session was dedicated to the students understand about the future opportunities available in the market. CRC department shared their roles and responsibilities with the students wherein students will be engaging with the department to gain more corporate and personal exposure. It also described the importance of Live Projects/Internship and International Exposure Programme as well. The session was followed by a Q&A session wherein students asked many questions about their employability and Opportunities they will get during the course of time. Students keenly attended the session and enjoyed the same. The session was successfully concluded.

Session -3
'Communication and Team Dynamics'-Ice Breaking Session.

"Alone we can do so little; together we can do so much."
With this note the activities were planned to developing better communication & team dynamics. All the tasks were executed to build an ambience of familiarity by getting participants on their feet and encouraging them to know each other effectively. The session has been started with the activity which was taken by Prof Shenki Tyagi followed by Introduction of Communication, Process, 7 C's later on activity was undertaken by Dr. Shilpi Sarna students learnt about team dynamics and their importance, few videos were also shown to students related to Communication and Team Dynamics.
After that two group activity has been started one is story telling and one is coordination with paper, with the help of that they learned about communication gap and effective group coordination. And finally presentation was given by group of students related to Business Plan. All the aspiring managers understood the outcome of the session and also related it to managerial efficiency. The session was successfully concluded both the Professor make their efforts to make session more lively and enjoyable. Students keenly attended the session and enjoyed the same.
