Industrial Visit to Mother Dairy Patparganj, Delhi

The department of Management, IMS Ghaziabad University courses campus organized an industrial visit to Mother Dairy Patparganj, Delhi . The visit was comprised of 73 students from BBA-III semester, accompanied with two faculty members, viz. Prof. Aniruddha Ghosh & Prof. Aastha Sawhney. Reaching to the destination, students were welcomed with flavored cold milk which was a product of Mother Dairy itself. Followed by an introductory session about products and manufacturing process took place and then an insight tour as well as a brief information about all the plants and their processes was given to the students.

The key resource person from CIS Department gave valuable insights on Mother Dairy. Mother Dairy was commissioned in 1974 which is a wholly owned subsidiary of the National Dairy Development Board (NDDB). It was an initiative under Operation Flood, the world's biggest dairy development program launched to make India a milk sufficient nation. Over the years, Mother Dairy has contributed significantly in achieving this objective through a series of innovations and programs. Today, Mother Dairy manufactures markets & sells milk and milk products including cultured products, ice creams, paneer and ghee under the Mother Dairy brand. The Company also has a diversified portfolio with products in edible oils, fruits & vegetables, frozen vegetables, pulses, processed food like fruit juices, jams, etc. to meet the daily requirements of every household.

Then, the students were freely allowed to ask their concerned queries to get in-depth knowledge about the company Mother Dairy. With delicious ice-creams (product of Mother Dairy) provided to the students, this visit filled with enormous fun and enjoyment ended and they all along with concerned faculties returned back to college.

The students were really lucky to achieve wisdom under serendipity, they are very thankful to the management, the Mother Dairy group as a whole for giving them a scope to learn the best of production and operations in food and beverage sector.
