Pahle India Foundation has recently completed a study titled, "An Integrated Value Chain Approach to Ease of Doing Business: A Case Study of Sugar, Alcohol Beverages, and Tourism Sectors" and Shri Amitabh Kant, CEO, NITI Aayog, released the report for benefit of all stakeholders.

A panel discussion on the theme of the report was moderated by Nirupama Soundararajan, Senior Fellow & Head of Research, Pahle India Foundation and the members of panel were Shri Amrit Kiran Singh, Executive Chairman, International Spirits & Wines Association of India (ISWAI), Shri Abinash Verma, Director General, The Indian Sugar Mills Association (ISMA), Mr. Vineet Taing, MC Member, Hotel and Restaurant Association of Northern India (HRANI) & President, Vatika Hotels P. Ltd.

The discussion during the report release was made on how an integrated value chain approach to EoDB will lead to more quantifiable gains and better results for the states. In their study they had chosen these three sectors because sugar industry is the input industry for the alcoholic beverages sector, and tourism industry is the output sector. Furthermore, sugar is regulated completely by the centre, alcohol by the states, and tourism by both. Through this study, the foundation proposed several sector based recommendations and seven macro recommendations. The event helped us in exploring the opportunities for further association with these bodies for building the knowledge base of our students in these sectors.
