Industrial Visit to AIR (All India Radio)

Journalism and Mass Communication Department at IMS Ghaziabad (University Courses Campus) organised an industrial visit to AIR (All India Radio) for the students of BJMC first-year on 18th September 2019. The objective of the industrial visit was to provide the students of BJMC first semester with required exposure to the working environment of a radio channel.

All India Radio, Delhi on the upcoming occasion of Gandhi Jayanti organized a talk show and quiz session for government school students on 18th September'19. 11 students from IMS Ghaziabad BJMC department also spectated the talk show. The show host talked at great lengths about the deeds of our national father Mohandas Karamchand Gandhi and how because of his actions India breathes the air of freedom. Four teams of two students each named after the principles of Gandhi- 'Satya' 'Ahimsa' 'Sadhbhavna' and 'Shanti' gave each other tough competition in the quiz. Unanswered questions by the participants were passed onto the audience to make the session more interactive and fun.

What made the visit memorable and successful was the special tour of the largest broadcasting organization of Asia, All India Radio (AIR) officially known as Akashvani- "Voice from the Sky". The building is divided into two parts- broadcasting house and new broadcasting house. The old building had a very historic and antique vibe to it. Students were also given a personal tour by their loving faculty Mr. Khursheed to his recording cabin where each one of them posed as RJs and clicked pictures. The visit was interactive and filled with fun and learning.
