Tableau is the fastest growing data visualization software that is used for data science and business intelligence aims to help people to see and understand data. In order to transform the way people use data to solve problems, tableau software ensures to converts raw data into a very easily understandable format.

It creates a wide range of different visualization to interactively present the data and showcase insights. It comes with tools that allow drilling down data and seeing the impact in a visual format that can be easily understood by any individual. Keeping this in view, BCA department of IMS, Ghaziabad (University Courses Campus) has organized a four days online workshop on “Basics of Tableau” from 18th May to 21st May 2020. The aim of this workshop is to introduce the participants to Tableau and educate them about its versatility & applications.

The workshop was conducted by Prof. Surya Saxena, Assistant Professor- IT. In this workshop, the students got practical exposure about how can we visualize our data more effectively & easily because data that is created by using Tableau can be understood by professional at any level in an organization. It was very informative and great hands on experience for students followed by online quiz too. All the students really appreciated the contents that were discussed, they realized that interactions likes these can help them to improve their learning.

Learning Outcome:
After completion of the workshop students were able to:

1. Understand the fundamental of Tableau software (Tableau Public).
2. How to connect, process, visualize & present data through tableau.
3. Creating or using various types of charts, maps in Tableau.
4. Apply Aggregation, granularity, joins & blending in Tableau.
5. Apply various queries on data source & develop Business Intelligence.
