MIB ORIENTATION PROGRAMME – DAY-1
 
Session -1
 
Topic - “Familiarization with IMS”
 
The first session during the orientation program was taken by Dr. Sapna Rakesh, Director, IMSUC, Ghaziabad for the MIB 1st year students on 17th August, 2020. It was attended by all MIB 1st year students and faculty of MIB programme. During the session following points were discussed:
An understanding of the institution with respect to vision and motto was discussed. Legacy of the institute and the focus on holistic learning was emphasized upon to help the students understand importance of commitment. The changing nature of business education was discussed along with the support provided by the institute was discussed. The students were asked to take up each aspect of their two years very seriously and with full dedication in order to succeed in life.

Session 2
Topic: Industry Guest Speaker
The session was conducted by Ms. Anjali Singh who is the Managing Director, Corporate Banking, Deutsche Bank, India in order to provide the students an understanding of the corporate world and how they can develop themselves. Ms. Anjali is a seasoned professional with major experience in the banking and financial industry. She emphasized the importance of developing a holistic approach for work and learn from every opportunity. Through her real life examples of handling customers and difficult situations, she narrated the work ethics that one should built up.

Session 3
Topic: Industry Guest Speaker
The third session of the day was taken up by Mr. Rajesh GK, CEO, Sharaf Exchange, UAE. He was virtually connected through the online mode from UAE to guide the students about how they should plan for their life ahead. Through various examples and anecdotes, from his personal and professional life, he guided the students to learn something new always. He advised on utilizing the time at hand in the best possible manner. the talk also helped the students understand the differences in domestic and international working. Being international business students, he advised them to be aware of the global trends and read a lot. The session was very informative and lively as Mr. Rajesh created a very interactive session with the students while they learnt the lot.

Session 4
Topic: The Race to Re-Skill
The objective of this session is to make the students well versed with the need of skill development in today's scenario. The Speakers of the sessions were Dr. Shilpi Sarna and Prof.Yagbala Kapil who focussed on the Communication skills, Leadership Skills and Time management skills and their relevance in holistic development of students. Nowadays with the mission of MAKE FOR WORLD, the organizations are focusing upon on how to stand out from competitors and prove to be the best among the crowd. These are the skills which develops an individual to be proficient within one’s professionn. The students took active participation in all the activities organized and raised various queries on the related topics. 
Major takeaways from the session:
1.The best Performers of the Day were awarded to Ms. Mansi Mishra, Mr. Arjun Singh and Mr. Vishant Chaudhary. The students were felicitated with E-Certification for their engagement and promptness throughout the session.
2.The session ended with great zeal and enthusiasm amongst the students.

3.Students gain insights on importance of skill enhancement which is a powerful tool to empower the people and improves their social acceptance.
