Big Ideas Club is an initiative to make you think, create, and spread ideas.

The BIG IDEAS CLUB of IMS Ghaziabad (University Courses Campus) organized ‘THE VIRTUAL SYMPOSIUM’, it’s the first event of 2020-2021 on 20th October at 3:30 PM. The objective of this activity is to improve the oratory skills and the thought process of the students.

The event was hosted by Sagnik Dutta and Anushka Arya and they also initiated a good start of the KreaNabo buzz cell with the welcoming address-“Big ideas are fun to romanticize, but it’s many small insights coming together that bring the big idea into the world.”

They continued the event with the introduction of Dr. R.K. Singhal (Dean), Dr. Sapna Rakesh (Director) and Dr.
Geeti Sharma (HOD) who is also the club head of Big Ideas Club, followed by the faculty coordinators i.e. Prof. Aastha Sawhney and Prof. Nidhi Sharma. They addressed the students and motivated them. They also very excitedly welcomed the team members of the Big Ideas Club.

The President Jhalak Mittal, Vice-President Vanshika Gupta and Yatharth Goel as Secretary also gave some interesting insights about the Big Ideas Club.

In the Virtual Symposium the participants were given some random topics, out of those given topics they have to present their views in a time limit of 2- 3 minutes. We were really obliged to have Dr. Indrani Bhattacharya and CA. Anu Tyagi as our judges. The participants were judged on the basis of their confidence, voice modulation and innovative ideas along with their content.

Members of the Big Ideas Club introduced some really interesting topics includes Meme culture- a barrier for online discussion or an avenue, how to move fast trolls (taking trolls positively), sex education should be mandatory in schools, Mental Health etc. During the activity participants shared their opinions, thoughts and suggestions on the topics. The activity was full of innovative and creative ideas. 18 students had participated in the event. In which Akansha Sahay BBA (2019-22) held the first position, Mahima Jain B.Sc. (2019-22) held second position and Maitrai Pathak BBA (2020-23) held third position. The program was continued by the team
members of the Big Ideas Club with a big announcement of launching ‘THINK TANK’. A platform where we will be discussing and finding solution about current social issues.

At last the ceremony was graced by the wise words of CA Anu Tyagi ma’am and Dr. Indrani Bhattacharya ma’am where they suggested us some great insights about how sustainability is necessary to maintain a work/life balance. They also explained, about successful ideation and four steps to follow them i.e., discover the problem, define a plan, develop it and then deliver.

The program was concluded by the vote of thanks from our faculty coordinators with the promise of coming back soon with another fun activities like this.
