School of Biosciences, IMS Ghaziabad University Courses organized a “Training and Project Awareness Session on “How to Read Scientific Literature and Introduction to Manav- The Human Atlas Initiative” on 5th January 2021. The resource person of the session was Dr. Anupma Harshal W, Consultant (Science Communication and Public Engagement) Manav-Human Atlas Initiative, IISER, Pune.

The session started with a welcome note by Dr. Abha Vashistha, Program Chairperson, School of Biosciences, wherein she highlighted the importance of understanding, extracting and collating information from scientific literature and wished that the session would encourage students to pursue scientific career.
The virtual session was attended in floods by the interested young scientific minds and faculties.

Dr. Anupma Harshal, an educator with proficiency in the field for 17 years, is also a certified trainer for STEM teachers training on Research Based Pedagogy. Her engagement with the project Manav- Human Atlas Initiative, Department of Biotechnology, Government of Indian & Persistent Systems, brought us the opportunity to conduct the session.

She articulated the need of scientific literature in the community of research and also cleared the blurred lines about the need of knowledge through information from the right source, bringing the topic on the table about the scientific literature and the right place to go in the vast world.

The session ignited the spark in the minds of students to begin reading scientific literature and reports and also be a part of this initiative.

The session ended with a formal vote of thanks by Dr. Surabhi Johari wherein she extended her heartful gratitude to the Guest for gracious presence.

With the wisdom shared by the honoured guest and enthusiasm kindled inside the students, the session came to a fantastic end.
