 Institute of Management Studies, Ghaziabad in association with Ghaziabad Management Association (GMA) had organized a webinar on "Global Megatrends for Mega Convergence" on 27th Feb 2021 from 6 pm onwards. 

 The guest speaker of the session was Dr. Deepak Vohra, Special Advisor to Prime Minister of India - Mr. Narendra Damodardas Modi. Mr. Deepak is an expert in Developmental issues for emerging nations and had addressed the session to ignite the young minds towards making India "Atmanirbhar".

 The session commenced by Dr. Sapna Rakesh, Director Institute of Management Studies, Ghaziabad, University Courses Campus with the formal introduction of the program and dignitaries. Further, the session was followed by Dr. CA Rakesh Chharia, Managing Trustee, Institute of Management Studies (Group of Institutions) and President of GMA and Dr. Rajendra Agarwal Governing Council member of Ghaziabad Management Association (GMA) with the welcome and introduction of Guest Speaker of the day.   

 

Dr. Vohra addressed audience that “How India is driving the global megatrends and becoming a leader and its reputation is touching the skies” and also stated that India is among the few countries that have emerged as one of the fastest growing digital economy over the past few years and has witnessed 90% growth in terms of digital adoption index between 2014 and 2017.

 The Key Highlights of the session were as follows:

 

  • The digital healthcare market in India stood at US$ 116.61 billion in 2018 and is expected to increase at a CAGR of 27.41% to US$ 485.43 billion by 2024.

 

  • Prime Minister of India Shri Narendra Modi is the modern-day CEO of India and his vaccine leadership is proof of that. 
  • India is a powerful nation now a days and produced vaccines which have already been approved for emergency use. The Serum Institute of India manufactured Oxford-AstraZeneca vaccine Covishield and the indigenously developed Covaxin by Bharat Biotech.
  • Future of Digital Healthcare in India Focus on making a technology enabled healthcare ecosystem as the backbone that will benefit India in solving many existing challenges was also the key point of the session. 
  • More investments in the health start-up ecosystem will require a stronger push towards scaling up digital efforts in the healthcare system. 
  • India emerged as a global leader in the 21st century due to its all-around development. That is why India is known as one of the stable countries of the world.

 There was a comprehensive Q & A session, where Dr Vohra answered various aspects related to the Future leaders and about the new megatrends transforming the future of India and its people.

 Summarizing the answers Dr. Vohra said that it is important for organizations to have an action-based awareness of the trends and insights driving the global megatrends, which will create a pipeline of growth and create a better future. He also focused on the humanity, which is entering into a technology-driven evolution at an unprecedented speed of change and India is leading at a very high rate.
