Summary of the Event:

A mentor is someone who sees more talent and ability within you, than you see in yourself, and helps bring it out of you.” — Bob Proctor

There are so many different ways to learn. One of the most personal and relationship-building learning experiences comes from Buddy mentorship. A buddy system is an opportunity wherein an “influential supporter” share tips, tools, knowledge and assist juniors both personally and academically.

College Buddy Mentoring programs are designed to pair students with fellow students so that they can assist in a student’s growth.

These types of programs teach valuable academic skills, as well as lifelong and professional tools. Mentors makes peers feel confident, inspired and focused.

With an aim to build a unique guidance system, School of Biosciences organised a Buddy Mentoring session on 7 June 2022, where student mentors imparted their knowledge, skills, and experiences with the mentee. The series was designed and implemented under the guidance of honourable Director, Dr. Ajay Kumar Singh.

The student Ms. Megha Sharma from B.Sc. (H) Microbiology final year offered insights on probiotics. She highlighted the health benefit of probiotics and its mechanism. The Buddy mentoring series had been effectively executed under the guidance of faculty coordinator Dr Shrasti Vasistha. The goal of mentorship is to help mentees to learn skills and information that will help lead them to success in their careers.

Dr. Surabhi Johari & Dr. Umesh Kumar, Program Chairperson congratulated student mentors for their outstanding contribution in academic mentoring, assistance and supports and recognised their efforts with memento and certificate.
