Summary of the Event: There is no form of prose more difficult to understand and more tedious to read than the average scientific paper. — Francis Crick School of Biosciences, IMS Ghaziabad University Courses organized a second Journal Club (JC_02) meeting based on Research Paper Presentation related to Disease biology on 17th March 2021, Wednesday. The meeting was conceptualized on understanding the hijacked molecular mechanisms that drive cellular processes leading to a plethora of key diseases such as diabetes. The session started with a welcome note by Dr. Hemlata Srivastava. Furthermore Dr. Abha Vashistha, the Program Chairperson, School of Biosciences motivated the students and participants. She highlighted the importance of data collection, literature review and presentation, which is crucial for spreading the word about the work done. Students of B. Sc. (H) Biotechnology, Nidhi Mishra, Janvi Sharma, Satyam Bathla and Bhupendra Sahu presented review on selected research papers related to various diseases that are spreading worldwide such as Cancer, Fatal Familial Insomnia (FFI), African swine fever and hair greying problems due to stress. They elucidated the present scenario and future effect of these diseases. They highlighted the ongoing research work on the vaccines against these diseases and explained advances in human disease genomics.
