REPORT for one day Inter Schools open Yoga Championship

Summary of the Event:

Yoga is an important endowment of antiquated Indian custom. It exemplifies solidarity of body and psyche; thought and activity, concordance between man and nature also, an all-encompassing way to deal with wellbeing and prosperity. Keeping the same in mind Sports Club at IMS Ghaziabad (UC Campus) has organized an Inter School one day Yoga championship in association with Yoga Association of India on October 15th, 2022. This pandemic didn’t hinder the enthusiasm and excitement of IMSIANS in organizing this event, hence keeping the scenario in our consideration we conducted this yoga championship. There were more than 30 institutes participated from all across the Delhi NCR like Schiller Institute, KVS Murad Nagar, CSHP Public School, MB inter College, Ghaziabad, St. Joseph Academy, Noida, Shri Thakur Dwara Vidyalaya, DDPS Ghaziabad, Presidium IndiraPuram,  Holy Child public school, Mahamaya Balika inter-college, MD Public school, DAV public school, DPS Ghaziabad, DPS Pratap Vihar, DPS HRIT, JP Vidya mandir Anoopshahr, Lady primary school Anoopshahr, Seth Anandram Jaipuriya, Bofors Grammar School, Anoopshahr have registered themselves for Yoga Championship.

Championship provides an opportunity for everyone to energize their inner self. Event was started with flower petals offering to ma Saraswati by director sir followed by distinguished guest and sports officials. The championship was inaugurated by Director sir IMS Ghaziabad UC Campus, Dr. Arun Kumar Singh. Wherein he welcomed everyone and introduced the resource person, Mr. Surendra Chauhan and other yoga officials. The event witnessed details about various yoga asanas such as Tadasana (Mountain Pose), Vrikshasana (Tree Pose), Trikonasana, Ardha chandrasana, bhujang asana by various participants.

Championship initiated with a welcome address of Dr. Arun Kumar Singh (Director, IMS Ghaziabad University Courses Campus) wherein he welcomed everyone and told us the benefits of yoga. There were total five categories in the championship age group wise and winners were 20-26 years boys- Shaurya Raj Verma, for 20-26 years girls- Aditi Verma, 17-20 years boys- Hardik Garg, 17-20 years girls- Aditi Verma, 15-17 years boys- Uttkarsh Chauhan, 15-17 years girls- Tanishka Sharma, 13-15 years boys- Shivansh Gaur, 13-15 years girls- Vanshika Chauhan, 5-7 years girls- Tanishka Rajput bagged the medals. In School category Jaypee Vidya Mandir City Campus, Anoopshahr was the winner of the event followed by Schiller Sr. Sec. School, Ghaziabad.

With the help of our dedicated team of faculty and students of sports club, the event successfully executed with precision bringing glory to each one associated with the program. Dr. Rishi Kumar Singh proposed the vote of thanks wherein he thanked all the yoga officials, Director sir, for his unconditional guidance and support, chairperson Dr. Gagan Varshney, school of Computer science, chairperson Dr. Surabhi Johari, school of biosciences, faculty members, student coordinators, Staff members and IT team for making the event successful.
