Event Summary:

The School of Journalism and Mass Communication at IMS Ghaziabad University Courses Campus always keeps its students on their toes and comes up with great opportunities to learn from professionals from the industry.

Social media are interactive technologies that facilitate the creation and sharing of information, ideas, interests, and other forms of expression through virtual communities and networks. To discuss the Opportunities and Challenges of Social Media the School of Journalism and Mass Communication organized a Guest Lecture with Mr. Nitish Singh.The  event was commenced with the warm welcome of the guest of honour Mr. Nitish Kumar (reporter in various news organisations like News 18, IBN7 , Live India etc.) the Chairperson of the school of journalism and Mass Communication Dr. (Prof.) Anil Kumar Nigam. 

Mr. Singh is a great name in the field of journalism .In the session of an hour and a half; sir discussed about the challenges and Opportunities in Social media career.He also told that how social media is killing traditional TV journalism and newspapers. He told the students about the various career opportunities in social media such as YouTube entrepreneur, Traffic driver,Troller, social media handler, content writer etc. In the later part of the session, students were given the great opportunity to interact and ask questions from Dr. Singh. The session was attended by all year students of the department. The session was hosted by Ms. Khushi student of BJMC second year. The program ended with the vote of thanks which was delivered by Prof. Sandhya Sharma.

Learning Experience: The session was very well organized and turned out to be a great learning experience for all. Students gathered to be informed about the various career opportunities in social media as well as the challenges presented by it.
