Summary of the event-

Women cell of IMS Ghaziabad University Course Campus has organized an International Women’s Day on 3rd March, 2023, Friday. The event was started by seeking the blessings of Maa Sarashwati. The day was an opportunity for IMSians to celebrate the social, economic, cultural and political achievements of women in overall globe. Our respected director Dr. Arun Kumar Singh, welcome the guest Dr. Shashi Singh , CEO, Consortium of women entrepreneurs of India, Ms. Ruchi Ratna, AGM, NTPC, Ms. Viashavi Sinha Bhasin, MD, Soonya Farms and Ms. Gulesh Chauhan UBER, India on this occasion.

To make this event significant and memorable, a panel discussion was organized on the theme Digital all: Innovation and Technology for Gender Equality. All the guests have shared and discussed around the theme. The entire event was anchored by Dr. Priyanka Srivastava. Further the moderation was carried by Dr. Isha Bharadwaj.

Dr. Isha Bharadwaj and Dr. Priyanka Srivastava discussed on various issues like

  1. Therole of technology in promoting gender equality
  2. Thedigital gender divide
  3. Womenin the tech industry
  4. Innovativesolutions for gender equality
  5. Theimpact of digital technologies on women's rights and safety

 

Dr. Shashi Singh, the chief guest has shared her experience and talked about her journey of life. She has also said that today technology plays a very important role in everyone’s life but we shouldn’t be overruled by the technology. We should be aware of advanced technology but addiction of everything is harmful.

Ms. Ruchi Ratna, the guest of honor of the program has also given her views on how technology has made our life easy and comfortable. Giving the reference of NTPC, she said that every fourth bulb that gives smile on our faces is receiving electricity from NTPC. She has also share her views on gender equality and women’s safety.

Ms. Vaishavi Sinha Bhasin, Guest of honor has also shared that she was passionate towards games and due to some reason she has turned up her face towards agriculture and now, she is an MD at Soonya Farma.

Ms. Gulesh Chauhan, Guest of honor, was the first lady driver of UBER and she has shared her memories of struggling days. She has also given many lessons to the females present in the auditorium and said, never give up until unless you have stamina.

 

At the end of the event, girls under 16 players of Khelo India Anjali Chaudhary, Urva Chaudhary and Sanskriti Bana were felicitated for their outstanding contribution in games.

A vote of thanks was given by Dr Surabhi Johari (HOD School of Biosciences and Head, Women Cell) wherein she thanked the respected Director Sir (for his constant guidance, support, and mentorship), esteemed guests, management members, faculties, staff, and student coordinators for making this event a great success.
