IMS UC organized a guest lecture for BJMC Students on September 19th, 2017 by inviting Prof. (Dr.) Devesh Kishore. Dr. Kishore has more than 45 years of experience of training, research & production in the field of Mass Communication & Journalism. Worked with the Indian Institute of Mass Communication (IIMC). Prof. Kishore has even worked as Communications Head with NAARM. His years of experience and expertise include working as Director & Prof. Communications at Indira Gandhi National Open Univ. (IGNOU). He interacted with all students of Journalism and Mass Communication on?Challenges and Opportunities in Media. While addressing the students, he shared his experience on how he manages time to focus on the goal. Briefing on the evolution of Communication, he spoke about how we started from sound and signals and formulation of languages and contribution of printing press in the field of communication. Advising the students he said that, journalism requires dedication, responsible behavior and smart mind which help in reporting the events in a better way. News Readers are not just readers but presenters who need experience and should know how to handle debates hence journalism plays an important role in their careers. The insightful session provided a great learning experience concluded with question and answer session with vote of thanks to the speaker.
