GUEST LECTURE (24.01.19) By MR. DINESH KANDPAL Department of Journalism and Mass Communication at IMS Ghaziabad (University Courses Campus) organized a Guest Lecture on TV anchoring, reporting and radio presentation by Mr. Dinesh Kandpal, Senior Producer at India TV, and author of the book ?Parakram?. The book, which is based on the various battles and insurgencies of the Indian Army against Pakistan, is a product of his 8 years of extreme research, analysis and hard work, and gives an apt insight of the hardships and brutality, that our soldiers face on the borders. The lecture was attended by 50 students and coordinated by faculty members ? Mr. Khursheed Alam. The Guest was enthusiastic and charismatic, and having been into academic atmosphere before, knew exactly how to keep the attention of his audience bound towards his words. Through the various anecdotes and real ? life references, he gave the students insights into the professional scenarios and challenges of the course. He not only emphasized on the importance of gaining ?information? and keeping up-to-date with the news, but also described how an anchor or a reporter should be ethical and tactful in their approach. Having been an anchor himself, he shared with the aspiring journalists the challenges he faced, and how he handled them.
