IMS Ghaziabad (University Courses Campus) organized a Guest Lecture on ?Film Making and Direction? on Thursday, January 31, 2019. The objective of the guest lecture was to teach the students of Journalism and Mass Communication (BJMC) Department how to make an approach and find their way through, when making or directing a film. The guest of the day was Mr. Deepak Sharma from FTII Pune. Various discussions on movie genres, film analysis and social impact of films were conducted. Through the short film ?Juice?, the guest gave the students insights on how to scrutinize and study every shot and dialogue to understand the underlying concepts of the film. Being a Director himself, of the film selected for International awards, Mr. Sharma shared with the audience firsthand knowledge and his own personal experiences while in the field. He emphasized on the point that treatment and Director?s perspective is extremely important to make a quality film. Films must break stereotypes and mirror the society in general. More than 50 students actively participated and learned about film direction, conceptualization and demands of film ? making. Dr. Sapna Rakesh (Director, IMS Ghaziabad- University Courses Campus) congratulated the students and motivated them towards their learning and achievements.
