Guest Lecture on "Cutting Edge or Cutting Off: A Psychological Insight into Digital Life"

IMS Ghaziabad- University Courses Campus organized a guest lecture on "Cutting Edge or Cutting Off: A Psychological Insight into Digital Life" by Dr. Shivani Datta who is an academician from Department of Psychology, Kamala Nehru College, University Of Delhi on 13th March 2019 for BBA 2nd year students under the guidance of Dr. Sapna Rakesh(Director, IMS Ghaziabad, University Courses Campus) and Dr. Geeti Sharma(Chairperson, BBA). The objective of the lecture was to understand the Digital Environment and its possible impact on human behaviour. The idea was to advise the students to use the digital tools for growth instead of getting addicted to it.

"Internet is becoming a serious problem nowadays and we should understand this that we don't need to disconnect but connect sensibly to the internet." The lecture mainly focused on the point that technology is not a problem for the people but the actual problem is how we engage ourselves with the technology. She made a really interactive session by giving various examples as well as case studies which involved audience very well, throughout the session. She kept her point that millennials are getting caught in the vicious cycle of Internet. She helped in identifying various psycho-social signs and symptoms of Internet dependency and how millennials can come out of it. The lecture proved to be a great learning experience for our BBA students and concluded with the vote of thanks proposed by Dr Nidhi Srivastava.
