Summary of the event-
On the occasion of Environment Day, IMS Green of IMS Ghaziabad – University Courses Campus, in collaboration with the National Service Scheme (NSS) Unit, organized a tree plantation program. A parallel plantation and cleanliness drive was also conducted at the City Hostel Center, Nayasta Park, Greater Noida 3, by IMS Green and NSS.
The initiative aimed to raise awareness about the significance of trees, foster harmony with nature, and promote cleanliness in the local environment. Renowned environmentalists Smt. Shweta Kanchan and Shri Mohit Arora, along with IMS faculty and NSS members, led interactive discussions on key environmental issues.
Students actively participated in cleaning the nearby cemented area, removing plastic waste, and planting saplings. The trench planting technique was employed to preserve soil moisture. Over 150 saplings of native species such as banyan, neem, peepal, drumstick, gulmohar, and amaltas were planted.
Following the activity, the environmentalists addressed the participants, emphasizing the importance of planting at least one tree annually, conserving water, avoiding pollution of local water bodies, and treating animals with compassion.
