Seminar Topic Sustainability & Growth of Business in the Digital Era

The advent of the digital era has created a challenging environment for organizations which is considered as a crisis rather than a new opportunity. To overcome this crisis and survive in the digital era, companies are considering an end-to-end approach for upgrading and managing business technologies. While doing so companies face critical IT modernization issues like digitizing the customer, managing/ moving away from aging software and hardware solutions, or shifting to newer technologies such as cloud-based computing, server-less computing, and microservices for delivering software. IMS Ghaziabad (University Courses Campus) firmly believes in giving students an on-the-ground feel for the industry to understand the systems and procedures. In continuation to these efforts a National seminar on Sustainability & Growth of Business in the Digital Era on 25th November 2017 was at its campus in close co-operation with experts from corporate and academia.

The seminar brought together research scholars, academicians and industry practitioners to discuss the latest developments in the fields of Business and Management, exchange views and experiences regarding key problems of the digital era, disseminate and encourage collaborative research on various critical issues related to the seminar theme.

The inaugural session of the seminar was graced by Prof (Dr.) Rakesh Kumar Khandal, President R&D and Business Development India Glycols Ltd as the Chief Guest and Mr. Naveen Raina, the Guest of honour. The first plenary session featured Ms Alpna K. Khera, advisor,Keolis-India and Mr.Vinod K. Pandita, CEO Perception Management. Various aspects of VUCA was deliberated during this session. The second plenary session was based on SMAC (Social Media Analytics and Cloud Computing) and speakers for the session were Mr Dinesh Bhasin (Founder of Bread n Butter), Mr Darpan Majumdar (Independent Consultant of India) and Mr Puneet Gupt (Chief Operating Officer, Times Internet). The one-day seminar concluded with a Panel Discussion on "Assessing India's Corporate Landscape: opportunities & Challenges". The expert panellists comprised of Mr. G.P. Rao CEO, GPR HR Consulting LLP, Dr. Amit Pareenja, Principal Consultant, Tata Communications Ltd., Mr. Neeraj Malik, Executive Vice President, APTECH and Mr. Darpan Majumdar, Digital Media Strategist and Marketing Consultant, Dentsu Media for Carat. The entire session was moderated by Dr. V.P. Singh, Patanjali Ayurved Ltd. The panel deliberated on the current corporate scenario, the opportunities and challenges faced today.

The seminar provided a platform to the management students to present their research work in various areas and were evaluated for best paper award by a panel of jury members. Over 250 delegates from education and professional fields participated in the seminar. The seminar not only directed the students to assess the challenge of the digital world but also motivated them to become employable in the current scenario.
